Maya Gross - Eternal student, living and breathing yoga for over twenty years. Leads retreats in India and Europe. Founder of the Ashtanga Yoga Shala and School in Tel Aviv, coordinates a long-standing teacher training course. Maya is a Yoga therapist. As a regular visitor to India, she studied in Mysore with the late professor and father of Ashtanga Yoga Pattabhi Jois, his daughter Saraswati Jois and his grandson Sharath Jois. In recent years, she has continued her studies in India with her teacher Sharmila Desai from Goa. Maya studied yoga philosophy and transcendental meditation with Professor Narasimhan and Dr. Jayashree from Mysore. Has been studying Vedanta, Buddhism and traditional yoga scriptures for over twenty years.
Retreat Schedule
Day 1: 02.04.2026 – Thursday – Tel Aviv – Delhi
We will fly on a direct overnight flight to Delhi.
Day 2: 03.04.2026 – Friday – From New Delhi to Rishikesh
We will arrive in Rishikesh around noon. According to Hindu tradition, the Himalayas are the dwelling place of the deities Shiva and Shakti, and from there flows the sacred Ganges River – a source of inspiration and inner peace for all who come to practice and dive into the depth of yoga.
We will be welcomed at our hotel, nestled in a breathtaking landscape wrapped in tranquility and magic. After a short rest, we will gather in the yoga space for an opening circle with meditation and gentle yoga to release the journey. Dinner will follow at the hotel restaurant.
Overnight in Rishikesh.
Day 3: 04.04.2026 – Saturday – Rishikesh
We will awaken to our first morning in Rishikesh with a meditation in nature facing the sacred Ganges River.
After the meditation, we will gather in the yoga hall for practice, followed by a wholesome vegetarian breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
After breakfast, we will go on a guided city tour of Rishikesh: the local market, the famous Laxman Jhula Bridge, temples, and ashrams.
In the afternoon we will meet for meditation and a philosophical session. Dinner will be served at the hotel restaurant.
Day 4: 05.04.2026 – Sunday – Rishikesh
The morning will begin with a silent meditation in nature near sunrise by the sacred Ganges, followed by yoga practice.
After breakfast, we will visit a nearby ashram for a satsang (teaching and meditation). At midday we return to the hotel for rest, and in the evening we will visit Parmarth Niketan Ashram – the largest and most renowned ashram in Rishikesh. We will take part in the spectacular and colorful evening Ganga Aarti Puja ceremony held daily on the banks of the sacred river. Dinner afterward at the hotel restaurant.

Day 5: 06.04.2026 – Monday – Rishikesh
The morning begins with silent meditation in nature near sunrise, followed by yoga practice and breakfast at the hotel.
We will embark on a fascinating excursion to the surrounding villages of Rishikesh. We will visit a local Indian family in their home, learn about rural life, and enjoy a meal at a local restaurant.
We will continue exploring the beautiful nature around Rishikesh, including meditation outdoors.
In the afternoon – free time to rest. Dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Overnight in Rishikesh.
Day 6: 07.04.2026 – Tuesday – Rishikesh
The morning begins with a sunrise meditation by the sacred Ganges, followed by yoga practice and breakfast.
We will then visit Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, a holy Shiva temple in the mountains, surrounded by lush forests and breathtaking views.
In the afternoon – meditation and a philosophical study session. Dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Overnight in Rishikesh.
Day 7: 08.04.2026 – Wednesday – Rishikesh
Morning meditation in nature near sunrise, followed by yoga practice.
We will then visit Trayambakeshwar Temple (the “Temple of the Three Eyes”) – an iconic 13-story temple overlooking the Ganges and Rishikesh’s suspension bridges. Each floor is dedicated to a different deity, and from its balconies spreads a breathtaking panoramic view of the city, the river, and the mountains. This is one of the most famous landmarks of Rishikesh.
After the visit and meditation at the temple, we will wander through Rishikesh city. Midday return to the hotel for rest.
In the evening – closing meditation/kirtan (sacred chanting), followed by a closing circle of sharing and inspiration.
Overnight in Rishikesh.
Day 8: 09.04.2026 – Thursday – Rishikesh – Israel
Early morning gathering in the yoga hall for a short meditation and breathing practice.
Afterwards, we will travel to Delhi Airport for our flight back to Israel, arriving in the evening.

Important notes:
India is a third world country, part of its beauty lies in the way and pace of its conduct, different from what we are familiar with, please accept this with understanding and see it as part of the travel experience.
We recommend ordering medical and baggage insurance that includes a clause that covers cancellation fees.
The itinerary may change at the discretion of the guide/company.
Payment and cancellation policy:
Up to 60 days before the departure date - no cancellation fees will be charged except for flight cancellations according to airline regulations.
30-59 days before departure date - 25% of the retreat cost will be charged
14-29 days before departure - 75% of the retreat cost will be charged.
14 days before departure - the traveler will be charged 100% of the retreat cost.
*The retreat departs with direct Air India flights. In case Air India cancels the flights, we will depart via Dubai.
