Ashtanga Yoga Tel Aviv
Yoga Teacher Training
Ashtanga Yoga
Recognized by the Israeli Yoga Teachers Association International Certificate
Teaching is based on sharing knowledge that stems from many years of experience and personal research.
During the course of our studies, we will explore together the various branches of yoga, and delve into the practice and philosophy with the aim of consecrating the study as a way of life.
The course focuses on practice and significant personal development as a person and as a teacher, within a school operating as a yoga shala - a space for yoga as a spiritual ritual.
This course unifies knowledge based on the authentic Ashtanga tradition and simplifies the study of anatomy and philosophy by deeply linking ancient wisdom and theoretical knowledge to practical learning and the way of life itself.
The course is intended primarily for those of you who feel an inner calling to make yoga a way of life and who are interested in developing significant teaching skills.
Course coordinator and facilitator - Maya Gross
Maya Gross is an eternal student of yoga and life. One of the leading yoga teachers in Israel. She has over 24 years of experience in researching, practicing and teaching yoga disciplines. She conducts retreats and workshops in Israel and abroad, teaches at professional conferences and festivals, and is the founder of the Ashtanga Yoga Tel Aviv shala in Gordon, where she has been conducting yoga teacher training courses for over a decade.
Maya is a certified yoga therapist and developer of yoga therapy methods. She has been studying with her teachers in India regularly and continuously for many years. She studied in Mysore (South India) with the late professor and father of Ashtanga Yoga K. Pattabhi Jois and continued her studies with the late Sharath Jois and other teachers.
Maya is a certified therapist in the "Body Wisdom" therapy, which she studied for about three years, an integrative treatment method based on Osteopathy. Alongside yoga, she has been delving into yoga philosophy, Vedanta and Buddhist traditions for decades, meeting many monks and spiritual teachers. In 2012, she published a Yoga Nidra meditation album.
Maya applies the extensive knowledge she has gained in the therapeutic field to work with post-traumatic stress disorder and mental health conditions, those coping with and recovering from cancer, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and more.
