Maya Gross - Eternal student, living and breathing yoga for over twenty years. Leads retreats in India and Europe. Founder of the Ashtanga Yoga Shala and School in Tel Aviv, coordinates a long-standing teacher training course. Maya is a Yoga therapist. As a regular visitor to India, she studied in Mysore with the late professor and father of Ashtanga Yoga Pattabhi Jois, his daughter Saraswati Jois and his grandson Sharath Jois. In recent years, she has continued her studies in India with her teacher Sharmila Desai from Goa. Maya studied yoga philosophy and transcendental meditation with Professor Narasimhan and Dr. Jayashree from Mysore. Has been studying Vedanta, Buddhism and traditional yoga scriptures for over twenty years.
Retreat Schedule
Day 1: 03.04.2025 - Tel Aviv - Delhi
Night flight to Delhi.
Day 2: 04.04.2025 - Dharamsala
Arrival at Delhi in the morning hours and flight towards Dharamsala. According to Hindu tradition, the Himalayas are the abode of the gods Shiva and Shakti. Dharamsala itself is the abode of the spiritual leader of the Tibetan Buddhist sect, the Dalai Lama. We will check into the hotel, which is situated in a stunning mountain landscape and is surrounded by peace and magic. After a short rest, we will meet in the yoga space to practice meditation and soft yoga.

Day 3: 05.04.2025 - Dharamsala
First morning in Dharamsala in the Indian Himalayas. Dharamsala is built on a peak at an altitude of 1600 meters and served the British as a place of relaxation and refuge from the intense heat.
We will begin the morning with a quiet meditation in front of nature near sunrise, then gather in the yoga space for a guided Ashtanga meditative practice including pranayama and deep, prolonged relaxation. After the practice, we will be hosted in the hotel restaurant for a nutritious breakfast. After breakfast, we will go on a tour of the temple of the Dalai Lama, the exiled leader of Tibet, who received political asylum there from the Indian government in 1959. In Dharamsala and McLeod Ganj, there are temples, monasteries and cultural institutions related to the Buddhist-Tibetan way of life. We will be impressed by the monastery and learn about Buddhist culture, we will sit for meditation and listen to the monks' prayer. Upon our return in the afternoon, after a short rest, we will meet for meditation and philosophical study. Then dinner in the hotel restaurant

Day 4: 06.04.2025 - Dharamsala
The morning starts with a quiet meditation in front of nature near sunrise. After the meditation, we will gather in the yoga space for practice. After breakfast, we will go on a walk in the magical village of Bagso, reach the waterfall area and dip in the pools of water. Upon our return in the afternoon, after a short rest, we will meet for meditation and philosophical study. Then dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 5: 07.04.2025 - Dharamsala
The morning starts with a quiet meditation in front of nature near sunrise. After the meditation, we will gather in the yoga space for practice. After the practice, breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Today is a free day, for rest, wandering, reading and contemplation. In the afternoon, we will meet for meditation and philosophical study, dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 6: 08.04.2025 - Dharamsala
The morning starts with a quiet meditation in front of nature near sunrise. After the meditation, we will gather in the yoga space for practice. After breakfast, we will go on a hike through a beautiful forest from the village of Nadi to the village of Dharamkot. A small and magical village on a mountainside above Dharamsala.
We will return for dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 7: 09.04.2025 - Dharamsala
The morning starts with a quiet meditation in front of nature near sunrise. After the meditation, we will gather in the yoga space for practice. Today is a free day for rest, wandering, reading and contemplation. In the afternoon, we will meet for meditation and philosophical study, dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 8: 10.04.2025 - Dharamsala
We will start the morning with a quiet meditation in front of nature near sunrise. After meditation, we will gather in the yoga space to practice Mysore. After breakfast, we will go on a temple tour.
In the afternoon we meet for meditation practice and philosophical study, dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 9: 11.04.2025 - Dharamsala
The morning starts with a quiet meditation in front of nature near sunrise, after meditation we will gather in the yoga space for practice. After breakfast we will go to visit one of the nearby villages, visit an Indian family and be hosted for lunch. In the afternoon we will meet for meditation practice and philosophical study, dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 10: 12.04.2025
The morning starts with a quiet meditation in front of nature near sunrise. After the meditation, we will gather in the yoga space for practice.
We will take a cable car to the city of Dharamsala and from there we will continue to the Center for the Preservation of Tibetan Culture and Art, and visit the Tibetan Orphanage.

The morning starts with a quiet meditation in front of nature near sunrise. After the meditation, we will gather in the yoga space for practice.

We will begin the morning with quiet meditation in nature near sunrise. After the meditation, we will gather in the yoga space for Mysore practice. After breakfast, we will go on a temple tour. In the afternoon, we will meet for meditation and philosophical study, followed by dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 9: 11.04.2025 - Dharamsala
We will begin the morning with quiet meditation in nature near sunrise. After the meditation, we will gather in the yoga space for practice. After breakfast, we will visit one of the nearby villages, meet a local Indian family, and enjoy a hosted lunch. In the afternoon, we will meet for meditation and philosophical study, followed by dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 10: 12.04.2025 - Dharamsala
We will begin the morning with quiet meditation in nature near sunrise. After the meditation, we will gather in the yoga space for practice. We will take a cable car to Dharamsala city and visit the Tibetan Culture and Art Preservation Center, as well as the Tibetan orphanage.

Important notes:
India is a third world country, part of its beauty lies in the way and pace of its conduct, different from what we are familiar with, please accept this with understanding and see it as part of the travel experience.
We recommend ordering medical and baggage insurance that includes a clause that covers cancellation fees.
The itinerary may change at the discretion of the guide/company.
Payment and cancellation policy:
Up to 60 days before the departure date - no cancellation fees will be charged except for flight cancellations according to airline regulations.
30-59 days before departure date - 25% of the retreat cost will be charged
14-29 days before departure - 75% of the retreat cost will be charged.
14 days before departure - the traveler will be charged 100% of the retreat cost.
*The retreat departs with Air India flights. If Air India cancels the flights, we will depart via Dubai.
